Open Gym & Meeting: April 18, 2008, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.
Tryouts: April 19, 2008, 8 a.m.

TENTATIVE TRYOUTS SCHEDULE

8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

School Song:
We will teach you the school song at tryouts

Cheer:
This will be a cheer you will make up on your own before coming to tryouts. You must have one standing tumbling skill and one jump in the cheer

Group Cheer:
We will teach you a group cheer at tryouts.

Stunting:
*Evaluations will be done at this time on stunting only

Lunch:
There will be a break for lunch, however, lunch is not provided so please plan accordingly.

Running Tumbling/
Standing Tumbling:

Please remember that you must have a running and standing backhandspring.
*Evaluations on your tumbling skills are done at this time only.

Cheer & School Song:
*Final evaluations on cheer & school song will be done at this time.

Requirements:
The coaches will select two squads at tryouts. Both squads will cheer at games, but one squad will primarily be a competition squad. The competition squad must have standing back tucks. The non competition team must have a back handspring.

What to Wear:
Please be aware that you will be judged on your appearance. You should be "game ready" at all times throughout tryouts.

Ladies - please wear cotton red or blue shorts, a tank top, white socks, a bow, and cheer shoes.
Men - please wear an athletic t-shirt, red or blue shorts, and athletic shoes

SUNDAY, APRIL 20 - MANDATORY MEETING & PRACTICE :
For those who make the squad (minus people who sent in video tapes), there will be a mandatory meeting and practice on Sunday, April 20 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. in the PAC.

If you make the squad and do not live in the Evansville area, please make arrangements to stay overnight somewhere. You are more than welcome to stay with one of the cheerleaders from a previous year.

We are looking for individuals who are dedicated, hardworking and committed to the program. If you have been unconditionally accepted for admission to USI, you are eligible to try out for the USI Cheer Team.

Can't make tryouts? Send us a video!
If you can't make it to campus on April 19, 2008, but would still like to tryout for the Cheer Team you can audition by video.

Videos must include:

Your school song
A cheer with a jump and standing tumbling in it
Running and standing tumbling
If possible, show stunting abilities

Video tapes are due by April 16, 2008, and should be mailed to:
