USI has one of the strongest dance programs in Division II. It is a great opportunity for students to continue dancing at the collegiate level. The team is made up of talented and dedicated women who perform at men’s home basketball games and other USI events and competitions.

Each year the Dance Team attends a collegiate-level summer camp and participates in UDA college dance national competition in Orlando, Florida. Throughout the year, they practice three times a week and participate in a team-conditioning program. Team members are required to enroll in and pass nine hours each semester and to maintain a 2.0 cumulative and semester GPA to be eligible to participate.

The Dance Team sponsors clinics and competitions throughout the year as fundraising events and performs at various community events such as the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.

If you have been unconditionally accepted for admission to USI, you are eligible to try out for the USI Dance Team. Tryouts are held each April and again in September. Tryout information can be found on this web site, or contact the Dean of Students Office at 464-1862.
