Interfraternity Council Recruitment

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at the USI participates in a formal recruitment process at the beginning of the fall semester. This is a process in which there are certain events planned and executed by the Interfraternity Council that give Potential New Members the opportunity to meet fraternity men. These IFC sponsored events take place during at the beginning of each semester and all men interested in joining a fraternity are required to attend. After these IFC events, the individual fraternities host events which any interest man is able to attend if he so choose. The formal recruitment process culminates in a formal bid day. Fraternities may continue to give out bids throughout the semester immediately following Bid Day. 

The following fraternities participate in IFC Formal Recruitment: 
Kappa Alpha Order, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Pi, Sigma Tau Gamma, and Tau Kappa Epsilon

Recruitment Eligibility

To be eligible for IFC recruitment you must:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Southern Indiana
  • Have a minimum 2.6 GPA (based on high school transcripts for incoming freshman)
  • Register for recruitment via the online form

Recruitment Schedule for Fall 2017

  • Thursday, August 31, 2017:  IFC Information Night @ 6 P.M. in Carter Hall.
  • Monday - Friday, September 1st-8th, 2017: Individual Chapter Events
  • Saturday, September 9th: Bid Day

If Formal Recruitment has passed and you are still interested in joining a fraternity, you can register for informal recruitment.
