The Tri-State Industrial
Safety Council, a member of the
Association of
Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC), in partnership with USI Outreach and Engagement, offers the Basic Orientation Plus™
training program. Basic Orientation Plus meets most of the
OSHA-mandated contractor requirements. As a result the contract employee
spends less time at the council on an annual basis and more time on the
job. This increases safety-training efficiency for the contract employee
due to a reduction in redundant information being presented.
Basic Orientation Plus
(BOP) courses
are
scheduled on most Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting
approximately six hours. BOP Refresher (Refresher) courses are scheduled
on most Wednesdays and Fridays beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting
approximately four hours. Evening courses (see schedule below) begin at
3 p.m. Two courses are offered one Saturday each month, BOP Refresher
will begin at 8 a.m., the Basic Orientation Plus will begin at 9 a.m. Courses are held
at the University of Southern Indiana; in the NEW University
Center East, Room 2220.
The
BOP Refresher (Ref) Computer based courses are scheduled on most
Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 8:30 AM, with the duration of the
class being approximately 2 hours. Courses will continue to be held at the
NEW University
Center East on the top floor in the Outreach and Engagement Computer
Lab.
Class size is limited. Participants must register and pay for their
course by 10 a.m. one business day prior to the class session. Register

checks or personal money orders/cashier’s checks may be mailed to USI
Outreach and Engagement, 8600 University Boulevard, Evansville, IN, 47712.
The registration fee is $100 for
BOP and $75 for Refresher, payable by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover by
calling 812/464-1989 or 800/467-8600. Cash and money order registrations, as
well as those by credit card, are accepted in person at the
USI Division of Outreach and Engagement
office during normal business hours:
