What is academic advising?
Academic advising is an important service provided by USI to aid a student in his/her development in becoming an educated person, a lifelong learner, and a contributing member of the work force.

Why do I need an academic advisor?
Academic advisors serve as a resource for students and help develop an educational plan.

Who is my academic advisor?
Your assigned academic advisor is listed on your MyUSI account under Student Information.

How do I make an appointment with my academic advisor?
If you are an undecided student, you can schedule an appointment with your academic advisor by calling (812)465-1606.

How often should I meet with my academic advisor?
Advisors are available to meet with students throughout the semester. While it is required that you see your advisor for Priority Registration Advising, you should meet with your advisor anytime you questions or concerns about your academic performance.
