The David L. Rice Library is the campus research portal and information gateway. In addition to providing tradition functions, the library meets today's technology challenges with wireless Internet access, laptop rentals, and computers, printers, self-checkout stations, and copiers on every floor. Opened in 2006, the library is the tallest building on campus at five stories high. It has 30 group study rooms, 2 enclosed reading rooms, and a 2-story reading room. In addition to four library levels, the building also houses 16 technology-enhanced classrooms and a 125-seat auditorium in its lower level. A Starbucks coffee shop and commons area are on the first floor.
