Current Construction Projects

Teaching Theatre
Teaching TheatreA project long-awaited by the University of Southern Indiana is scheduled to begin construction in Fall 2010 and open in Fall 2012.

The teaching theatre was the University's number one capital priority for the 2009-2011 biennium. The 2009 Indiana General Assembly authorized $15 million for the construction of the teaching theatre. The proposed 350-seat facility will replace the 50-year-old off-campus theatre located four miles from campus. The University is also seeking private funding to support its commitment to arts education and to the cultural needs of the community. The facility will attract additional students to the Theatre Arts Program and provide theatre majors with an even-higher-quality educational experience.

The proposed teaching theatre will be constructed adjacent to the expanded University Center.
