USI Volunteer Positions

 

Department of Athletics
Basketball season is fast approaching and the Department of Athletics is looking for volunteers to take tickets and monitor entry into the Physical Activities Center during games. Volunteers receive two season bench tickets for volunteering for at least five games.   

 

USI Development Office
The USI Foundation serves as the official gift-receiving agency for the University of Southern Indiana.  Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist in the office and with mailings.

 

Alumni & Volunteer Services
One-on-One is a community tutoring program that pairs adult tutors with elementary school children in the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation and the Metropolitan School District of Mount Vernon. To learn more, visit One-on-One.

 

Office of Academic Skills

Volunteers are needed to tutor USI students in areas such as psychology, sociology, accounting, physics, foreign language, biology, and history.

 

New Harmony Theatre
Volunteers usher theatre guests to their seats in Murphy Auditorium. Volunteers are needed during three summer productions, June through August.

 

USI Theatre Department

Volunteers are needed to assist USI Theatre design faculty and staff in their respective shop areas and theatres including USI, New Harmony, and the Lincoln Park Amphitheatre. Examples: carpentry, painting, sewing, wardrobe crew, electrical work.

 

Historic New Harmony
Historic New Harmony is seeking teachers, doctors, herbalists, thespians, communitarians, ministers and theologians, woodworkers, chefs, seamstresses, spinners and weavers, archaeologists, anthropologists, musicians, economists, philosophers, architects, artists, historians, preservationists, and sales people to help us tell the fascinating story of New Harmony to the public.

 

Volunteers are needed to assist the tour guides with regular daily programs and activities, or to take part in special events.  Scheduling is at the convenience of the volunteer and training is provided.
