Core Curriculum Requirements

An important goal of a University education is thoughtful study in a broad range of subjects beyond the major program of interest.  At University of Southern Indiana, all students who pursue a bachelor’s degree complete the University Core Curriculum to achieve this goal.  The University Core Curriculum consists of four categories:  A) The Mind, B) The Self 3) The World, and D) Synthesis.  More information about USI’s University Core Curriculum can be found at http://www.usi.edu/libarts/uccore/index.asp.

Vincennes University Graduates and the Core
Students who have completed an associate degree from Vincennes University, including the VU general education requirements, will satisfy USI’s University Core Curriculum with additional courses beyond the minimum required for the VU degree. Except for Category D: Synthesis, all other courses may be completed with approved coursework from VU.
