Shelby Thompson

Shelby L Thompson earned, with honors, a two-year degree at Vincennes University and transferred to University of Southern Indiana in fall 2006. Her career plans include teaching in middle school.

Shelby is a junior majoring in elementary education at USI. She transferred to USI and is in her second semester. The One Admission. Two Universities program was not available when Shelby enrolled at Vincennes, but she had plans to complete a four-year degree.

Shelby said, “Being with other Vincennes University students in the program and feeling more of a part of USI by receiving USI communications and attending USI events will be advantages for the students enrolled in the dual program.”

Shelby graduated cum laude from Vincennes University in May 2006. She received an academic scholarship from the VU Foundation and the Samonial National Anthem Scholarship. A member of the VU Concert Choir and the VU Show Choir, she was often a featured soloist at several VU events. She had the honor of singing at the Indiana State Vocational/Technical Awards for Excellence in 2006.

She was named first runner-up to Miss Northwest Territory and received a $1,000 scholarship to continue her studies at USI.
