USI Standard Layout
Web Services has developed a web page standard layout that can be customized for your department. Consistency of University graphic elements such as headers, page layout, and footers helps the user to navigate easily across departments and colleges.

The standard layout has been designed to be flexible so as to accommodate the specific needs of your project. Style sheets (CSS) are web pages which are referenced by other pages to maintain consistency of design. One style sheet directs the University elements and is updated by Web Services. Another style sheet is created to control elements that are unique to your department pages, and is accessible within your web folder.

We strongly recommend that all departments utilize the standard layout for all web pages. However, if individual staff members or faculty have created their own web sites relating to their classes or specific jobs, migrating those to the USI standard layout is not necessary unless specifically requested.
