IV. Publish it!

To publish the pages you've created so that other people can see them, you'll need to find space on a Web server.

For course Web sites, Distance Education will assist you in publishing in Blackboard.

For other pages, you can use the USI server, a server that someone in your department or group has already set up, or run a Web server on your own machine.

Students may develop personal pages and sites for clubs and organizations. Contact Robert Threet, Computer Center, for more information.

First, determine the name of your directory. Keep in mind that this name will be a part of the URL or address to your site (eg: www.usi.edu/mysite/). Only use the letters of the alphabet, upper or lowercase, to construct your directory name. For example, if your department's name is "Web Services," you would more than likely choose the directory name "webservices."

Next, determine who will need access to this new directory. Once you know who will be accessing this directory, contact Web Services at webserv@usi.edu with the following information.
