Folder Structure
The USI web server houses tens of thousands of web pages in over a hundred and fifty different folders. The performance of the web server, in terms of speed and efficiency, depends heavily upon a well organized folder structure. Utilizing proper file naming protocols and folder structure improves server performance and makes the job of maintaining the site easier for you and your colleagues.
Maintenance
Out of date pages, test pages, and alternate versions of pages must be deleted or archived elsewhere such as another network drive. You run the risk of old pages being accessed by search engines such as Google if they remain on the web server.
