USI holds outreach to the region central to its mission. Our service to and engagement with the people of the region takes many forms:
The knowledge resources of our faculty, staff, and students are available through our Speakers Bureau and Experts Guide, our Center for Applied Research, Service Learning, and Extended Services programming.
We strive to enrich cultural life through Connect with Southern Indiana, the New Harmony Theatre and USI Theatre and the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art.
Each of the Colleges of the University has specific community programs, such as the Dental Hygiene clinic operated by the College of Nursing and Health Professions and the regional STEM teaching and learning initiative of the Pott College of Science and Engineering.
Community development and involvement programs such as Connect with Southern Indiana, Historic Southern Indiana, and Historic New Harmony focus on the rich human and historic resources of the area.
