Don Bisesi, Women's Golf Coach

Don Bisesi has directed the University of Southern Indiana women's golf program to the NCAA Division II East Regional and the brink of a GLVC title in each of the last four seasons.

In 2006-07, Bisesi and a young Screaming Eagles squad set a school record with a 325.1 strokes-per-round average (spra). His Eagles finished fifth at the GLVC Championships in the spring.

During the fall of 2005, the Screaming Eagles placed second in the GLVC with four players in the top 20 individuals. USI finished the 2005-06 with its third straight NCAA Division II East Regional appearance, finishing fourth.

In the fall of 2004, Bisesi's Eagles lost in a playoff to Northern Kentucky University at the GLVC Championship. Despite the loss, Alisha Luigs captured the individual conference title and USI posted its best fall season in the program's history as it was ranked 10th in the country with a blistering 314.3 strokes-per-round average.

Although the Eagles had a rough 2005 spring season, they still qualified for the NCAA II Tournament and held on for their best average in school history (325.9).

In his fourth season at the helm of the Eagles, Bisesi directed the Eagles to a fourth place finish in the team's first ever appearance in the NCAA II East Regional and a top-20 national ranking. Bisesi's Eagles also placed second in the GLVC Tournament during the fall season.

In 2003, Bisesi directed Amanda Zehner into the NCAA II East Region, marking the first women's player to compete on the regional stage.

Prior to joining the USI staff, Bisesi was the professional and manager of Helfrich Hills Golf Course. Prior to his tenure at Helfrich, he was the director of golf at Club of Prestwick in Plainfield, Indiana, and the head professional at Plainfield Elks Country Club in Plainfield, Indiana. A graduate of the University of Indianapolis with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education, Bisesi was All-Conference each of his four seasons, winning two team conference championships and an individual conference championships twice. He was inducted into the University of Indianapolis Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
