Members of the presidential task force on COVID-19 have now been approved by President Rochon. The task force is charged with developing a proactive response and communication for the campus community and strategically moving the University toward a return to on-campus operations. A full list of members, including Core Committees, Essential Support Teams and Resource Personnel, has been added to the COVID-19 website.
Commencement may be postponed, but you can still celebrate the Class of 2020 with new custom Facebook profile frames and animated Instagram stickers.
Two new USI Class of 2020 Facebook profile frames are now available and can be accessed through the links below.

Please share your posts celebrating the USI Class of 2020 by using #USIGrad and #ScreaglesFlyTogether.
As finals approach and the semester winds down, Student Development Programs has compiled virtual activities and services offered by University offices for Finals Week. Students can find online offerings from David L. Rice Library, Academic Skills and other departments to prepare for finals.
More information about the full list of events and services can be found on the Student Development Programs Road to Finals webpage.
Students are sharing words of encouragement and inspiration for their fellow Screaming Eagles in a new video. Please take a moment to watch:
The USI Board of Trustees will meet virtually in regular session at 9 a.m. Friday, May 1. Documents for the meeting have been posted to the Board of Trustees website as well as information for joining the Zoom meeting as an attendee. The Board will meet virtually in executive session prior to the public meeting.
USI is now accepting donations for students through Archie’s Food Closet. Due to the unknowns of COVID-19, only non-perishable items will be accepted. To schedule a time to donate items to Archie’s Food Closet, use the Request Access to Campus Form. Access to campus will be granted on a mutually agreed upon time to deliver items.
Students will be notified when non-perishable items are donated and how to request and pick them up at the Campus Store area.
A huge thanks to USI Public Safety which also recently donated proceeds from its found property auction to Archie’s Food Closet in the amount of $267.50.
If individuals would like to contribute financially to students, donations can be made through the University of Southern Indiana Foundation. For decades, the Foundation has utilized the Here & Now Fund for the unexpected. Gifts to this fund allow the University to provide essential needs to students impacted by COVID-19.
For faculty and students who need to convert class files for accessibility purposes, Blackboard is offering free use of its Ally File Transformer to everyone. Users can upload Word, PDF, PowerPoint and HTML files and convert them to copiable PDFs, electronic Braille, e-reader files and screen reader-friendly files, as well as files that can be opened outside of Microsoft and Adobe products.
Is there a person who has made a difference in your educational experience at USI? Someone who changed the way you think about a subject and inspired you to learn more? Or made an extra effort to help you learn and succeed, with patience and encouragement?
Current and former USI students are invited to take a moment to let that individual know about it by submitting a "Thank a Faculty or Staff Member" message. You can make a big impact on the person receiving your message and may choose to remain anonymous.
To submit a note, complete the "Thank a Faculty or Staff Member" form. Your message will be lightly screened and delivered once semester grades have been submitted.
Every employee at USI is assigned an email address using a unique username. Usernames are system generated and are typically formatted first initial middle initial last name (ex. JTSmith).
An email alias is a convenient email address based on your name (ex. John.Smith@usi.edu). The alias is not a new mailbox, but an address that is easier to read, write and remember than your official username address. An alias can help students and/or coworkers contact you faster and with the correct address.
Please note: Aliases are only available for regular employees and are not offered for student or student employee accounts.
A new website, Be Well Indiana, offering information and resources compiled by the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction has been created to help individuals stay connected and maintain their well-being. Resources have been validated by local and national experts to ensure access to reliable information.
