COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots available

The University Health Center is available to provide COVID-19 vaccination shots as well as booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine to those who qualify, including faculty, staff and students. 

For the COVID-19 vaccination shots, UHC can administer first and second shots to anyone 12 years and older. The booster shot can be administered to anyone 18 years or older, who also meets the current CDC guidelines below: 

  • Patient must have received their second Pfizer and Moderna shot at least six months earlier or their Johnson & Johnson shot two months earlier
  • Patient must NOT have received monoclonal antibody treatments in the past 90 days
  • Patient must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
    • Those 65 years of age or older and residents in long-term care settings
    • Those 50 to 64 years old with certain medical conditions that make them more likely to develop severe COVID-19 symptoms 
    • Those ages 18 to 64 who frequent institutional or occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2

Educational institutions, such as USI, are included in occupational high-risk and are eligible for the Pfizer booster shot. 

Appointments for COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots can be scheduled between 9 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday the University is open through Tuesday, December 21. UHC will resume vaccinations and boosters after the holidays, again from 9 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning January 4. Vaccinations are administered in the University Health Center, located in the lower level of the Health Professions Center, room HP0091.
