Philanthropy, defined

Merriam-Webster has two definitions of philanthropy:

1. goodwill to fellow members of the human race; especially : active effort to promote human welfare

2. an act of gift done or made for humanitarian purposes

At the USI Foundation, everyone is philanthropist, no matter gift size, because there is always a deserving student. You define philanthropy at USI.

Thumbs up to you, for enriching the USI experience. Together, due to your annual generosity:

  • Over 1,900 students are impacted by $2.5 million scholarships awarded
  • $190,000 unrestricted dollars are raised for the Here & Now Fund, meeting USI’s greatest needs
  • Athletic programs are enhanced with $148,000 in support
  • Community partnerships are strengthened through the Applied Engineering Center, Historic New Harmony, and outreach programs
  • Student leadership opportunities are made possible by $2 million benefiting academic and enrichment programs
