Update on New Regulations for Care Management: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - Ronald Hirsch, MD
This conference is appropriate for Case Managers, Care Coordinators, Navigators, Discharge Planners, Nurses, Social Workers, Advanced Practice Nurses, Physicians, Students and any healthcare provider concerned about coordination of care.
Ronald Hirsch, MD, FACP, CHCQM, CHRI will provide the opening keynote. Dr. Hirsch is Vice President of the Regulations and Education Group at R1 Physician Advisory Services at R1 RCM, Inc. Dr. Hirsch graduated medical school from Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, IL, and completed his internal medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Hollywood, CA. Dr. Hirsch was Medical Director of Case Management at Sherman Hospital. He was also a general internist and HIV specialist at Signature Medical Associates, a multispecialty practice located in Elgin, Ill., where he previously served as president. Dr. Hirsch’s career in medicine includes many clinical leadership roles at healthcare organizations ranging from acute care hospitals and home health agencies to long-term care facilities and group medical practices. In addition to serving as a medical director of case management and medical necessity reviewer throughout his career, Dr. Hirsch has delivered numerous peer lectures on case management best practices and is a published author on the topic. He is on the advisory board of the American College of Physician Advisors, the advisory board of the National Association of Healthcare Revenue Integrity, a member of the American Case Management Association and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is the co-author of the Hospital Guide to Contemporary Utilization Review, with the second edition published in 2018.
Ellen Fink-Samnick, MSW, ACSW, LCSW, CCM, CCTP, CMHIMP, CRP, DBH(s) will join the keynote lineup providing an Ethics plenary session. Ms. Fink-Samnick is an award-winning industry thought leader empowering healthcare's transdisciplinary workforce. Known and highly respected as “The Ethical Compass of Professional Case Management”, she is an international presenter and author with hundreds of offerings and publications to her credit. Ms. Fink-Samnick has achieved global acclaim as a national expert on the Social Determinants of Health, Workplace Bullying and Violence, Professional Ethics, Professional Case Management Practice, and Wholistic Case Management™. Her passion is evident across her varied roles as professional speaker, industry consultant, educator, blogger, continuing education content developer, accreditation specialist, clinical social work supervisor and professional mentor to the case management community. Ms. Fink-Samnick currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Case Management Society of America, the Council of Advisors and Founders for Reverberation 5.0 and the editorial boards for the Professional Case Management Journal and RAC Monitor.
