PAC Participating Nursing Homes

The purpose of this 18-month pilot project is to improve the quality of life among elders with Alzheimer's disease and dementia living in nursing homes in southwest Indiana.

USI invites your nursing home to join this grant-funded project. Participating nursing homes will:

  • Select two staff members to be trained as certified PAC educators. This training is offered at no cost to participating nursing homes and includes:
    • A two-day workshop at USI with Teepa and her staff on August 18-19, 2016
    • Eight hours of online instruction prior to the workshop
    • Three hours of personal coaching after the workshop
  • Conduct eight dementia care in-services to be held at your nursing home by October 2017 (PAC curriculum will be provided)

  • Submit data to measure program success

  • Attend four 2-hour planning/training meetings at USI between June 2016 and October 2017

USI will offer ongoing support and resources over the 18 months to help trainers and coaches work with staff in their respective nursing homes.
