USI to present V-Day performance of the Vagina Monologues

The University of Southern Indiana will present a benefit reading of Eve Ensler's award winning play The Vagina Monologues as part of the 10th annual USI V-Day at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 23 and Friday, February 24 in Forum III of the Wright Administration Building. Tickets are available at the door for $7. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will go to support Willow Tree of Posey County, a local organization that provides support and counseling for women and girls who have experienced sexual assault and domestic violence, and the V-Day 2017 Spotlight Campaign working to end violence against women in the workplace.

Ensler's Vagina Monologues has been performed nationwide with critical acclaim. The stories are told from the perspectives of girls and women sharing the humor, strife, pain, pleasure and wisdom of being a woman.

V-Day 2017USI students, faculty and alumni will comprise the cast, including: Corliss Chastain, Ellen Cooper, Morgan Dale, Sharon Dennis, Sandy Falls, Jeannie Elliott, Kennedy Jessup, Chloe Minor, Gerlyn Murrell, Olivia Phelps, August Powell, Cristine Pyle, Emma Schwab, Alice Shen, Mary Lyn Stoll and Cheyenne Welte.
