New Harmony Theatre will hold local auditions for the 2018 summer season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, February 3, in room 116 of the Arts Center (AC 116) on the University of Southern Indiana campus. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, February 4. Summer shows include Born Yesterday (June 22 – July 1), Nunsense (July 13-22), and Talley’s Folly (July 27-August 5). Headshots and resumes can be submitted to NHTheatre@usi.edu. Please call 812-682-3115 to schedule an audition.
Actors should prepare a one minute modern or contemporary monologue suitable for any of the principal characters in Born Yesterday or Nunsense. Actors (female only) interested in Nunsense should prepare both a one-minute comic monologue and a single verse and chorus that demonstrates their range and strengths as a singer. While all the Nunsense characters are comic, the singers must also create a beautiful choral blend so exceptional singers are sought. For Talley’s Folly, only Equity roles are available.
Character breakdowns are available on the New Harmony Theatre Facebook page at Facebook.com/NewHarmonyTheatre.
