Campus community invited to Regional VOICE visioning sessions at USI

September 13, 2019

USI students, employees and retirees are invited to attend one of two Regional VOICE visioning sessions hosted by Leadership Everyone on the USI campus. The sessions will be held Monday, September 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. and Thursday, September 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. Both sessions will take place in Carter Hall and are open to the campus community only.

Regional VOICE is the next phase of Leadership Everyone's VOICE Initiative, which was launched in 2012 in partnership with the City of Evansville Mayor's Office. Through the initiative, more than 3,000 people participated in 32 visioning sessions. Data gathered from these sessions was utilized for grantmaking, sustainable projects and comprehensive plans, such as Regional Cities, The Promise Zone Initiative and Evansville's Downtown Master Plan. In addition, VOICE inspired ParksFestThe Franklin Street BazaarEvansville's Cultural Districts, and the Haynie's Corner Arts District revitalization.

Regional VOICE will facilitate important conversations about our area's future across Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson, Posey and Henderson counties. All opinions will be shared, documented and made available to the public. According to Leadership Everyone, participants' visions "will establish community priorities to feed into local and regional planning and development initiatives for immediate, mid-range and long-term implementation."

All USI community feedback also has the benefit of helping with the University's own upcoming strategic planning process.
