Online Undergraduate Summer Courses 2023

Are you a current USI undergraduate student and want to get ahead in your program? Summer courses are perfect for catching up or advancing quicker into your program. 

Since you are already admitted to the university, follow the same registration process as you would for the fall or spring semesters. Priority registration for summer sessions are already open, so you can utilize the Self Service tool through myUSI.

1.) Choose the Self Service icon once you have logged into myUSI.

2.) Select "Student".

3.) Select "Registration".

4.) Select "Add or Drop Classes".

5.) Select a summer term in the drop down menu.

6.) Find the course you are interested in taking by clicking on the summer sessions below. Once you know which course you want to take, find the CRN that is provided.

7.) Enter the CRN number on the Add or Drop classes page.

8.) Press "Submit Changes".

You should now be registered to take your summer course! Students are limited to 7 credit hours per summer session.

Do you attend another university, but want to take a summer course at USI to transfer back to your university for the fall semester?

If you wish to take only summer courses, you will be considered a "non-degree seeking" student. To begin the process, follow the steps below!

1.) Check to see if your USI summer course will transfer to another Indiana college before registration at www.transferin.net.

2.) Complete an undergraduate admission application.

3.) Once you are admitted to USI, obtain your myUSI username and password. Every student is issued a username and password when they register. If you do not know your username, go to myUSI and click on the ACTIVATE ACCOUNT link (in the blue bar).  Answer the questions to receive your username.  There is also a FORGOT PASSWORD link on this page. 4.) Complete the registration process via myUSI. More details regarding registration can be found on the registration website. 

If you submit an application the day of registration, the admission staff will tell you who to meet with and where to sign up for classes.

Are you a new freshman beginning in the fall semester and want to begin online classes before the fall term? Follow the steps below!

If you've already sent in your application for Fall 2023:

1.) Email the admisssions office to notify them of the change in entry term from Fall 2023 to Summer 2023. 

2.) Obtain your myUSI username and password. Every student is issued a username and password when they register. If you do not know your username, go to myUSI and click on the ACTIVATE ACCOUNT link (in the blue bar).  Answer the questions to receive your username.  There is also a FORGOT PASSWORD link on this page. More information can be found on IT's website.

3.) Schedule a time to meet with your advisor via Zoom video conference or on campus and sign up for classes via your myUSI account. Please contact the department of your intended major or the University Division (undecided majors) to complete registration.

• If you are not sure who your advisor is, log into myUSI. Click on the Degree Works icon. Look in field for Advisor. If you do not have an advisor listed, contact the appropriate advising center. A complete list of advising centers and more information can be found here.
