 I have gone to myUSI and I don't see the Screaming Eagles Orientation icon. What should I do? 

Students will see the Screaming Eagles Orientation icon when they are eligible to make a reservation for orientation and their advising and course registration appointment. Students will receive an email when it is time for them to make their reservation. If a student has received the email and still can't see the icon, contact New Student and Transitional Programs at 812-465-7167 or new.student@usi.edu so we can assist.

How do I find my student ID number? 

You can find your USI student ID by following these steps: 

  1. Log into myUSI. 
  2. Click on Degree Works

Your student ID number is the top left corner and will start with 000.

How do I sign up for classes? 

When you meet with an advisor, they will provide a list of classes that you should enroll in for the upcoming semester. They will also show you how to utilize Schedule Planner, our online class scheduling program. Once you have received a list of classes to enroll in, you will utilize Schedule Planner to register for those classes.

How do I change my advising and course registration appointment?  

You can change your advising and course registration appointment by following these steps: 

  1. Log into myUSI.
  2. Click on Screaming Eagles Orientation icon.
  3. Click on the Orientation/Advising appointment item in the task list. 
  4. Go to the section for selecting advising appointment. 
  5. Select a new advising appointment. 
  6. Make sure you get to the last page and click submit.

Are you able to look at course options prior to a registration appointment? 

Your advising appointment will provide you with a list of courses you should register for. If you would like to view the classes that USI offers, you can visit the USI bulletin webpage: https://bulletin.usi.edu/

How do I sign up for summer classes?

When you meet with your advisor and express you interest in taking summer courses, your advisor will provide you with the courses you should take in the summer. Your advisor will show you how to utilize schedule planner to register for the summer classes.

What if I forgot my username and password?

Go to my.USI.edu and click on the tab for Forgot Username and Forgot Password. If you need further assistance, contact the IT Help Desk at IT@usi.edu or 812-465-1080.

Who do I contact to schedule my advising appointment?

You will select your advising appointment when you make your reservation for orientation. If you have other questions related to your advising appointment you can connect with your advising center.

Do I need to complete placement testing prior to making a reservation for orientation? 

No, you do not need to have your placement testing done prior to making an orientation reservation. We do ask that you complete your placement testing prior to your advising and registration appointment.

How do I complete my placement testing prior to my advising and registration appointment?

Visit Placement Testing web page or contact Academic Skills for details by emailing  or by calling and leaving a voicemail at (812) 464-1743.

For foreign language placement tests, the student will work with their academic advisor to best determine what language to take. Changes to level of course can be made once classes begin as well.

When will I get my Eagle Access Card student ID?

You will take your picture in the morning of Screaming Eagles Orientation and will be able to pick-up at end of day. If you are an upper-level transfer or adult student and won't be attending Screaming Eagles Orientation, you may get yours at the Eagle Access Card office during their office hours.

What is the cost for orientation?

The cost for students to participate in an orientation program is included on your first tuition bill as the matriculation fee. This fee covers the cost of orientation, Welcome Week, and other new student programs. This is a one-time, non-refundable fee paid by all new students to the University who register for classes.

How does a student sign up for choir try-outs?

If a student is interested in trying out for the USI Chamber Choir, USI Women's Choir, or the USI Jazz Band, they should contact Dan Craig (daniel.craig@usi.edu) for more information.
