Thanks to everyone who participated, volunteered at or observed the 17th Annual NFM this past weekend on the beautiful campus of the University of Southern Indiana on 3 November 2018. It was a great success! We had wonderful weather, very few injuries and even saw a new female record set! Results and a link to photos are posted in the results section of this webpage.
The Norwegian Foot March is an 18.6 mile foot march while carrying a 25 pound ruck sack. Participants have no more than 4.5 hours to finish. Those who complete the event to standard will earn the Norwegian Foot March pin authorized for wear on U.S. Military Uniforms.
The event is historically limited to 500 participants in order to ensure our ability to provide a quality and safely executed event for the participants. Registration is a first-come-first-serve availability for participation. Registration for the 2 November 2019 event is expected to open here on our website in the month of June 2019. Register early in order to save your spot!
This year's event was made possible through the support of the University of Southern Indiana, its faculty, the USI Student Veterans Association and the students of Eagle Company of Wabash Battalion Army ROTC.
Point of Contact for the NFM is CPT Adam Balbach at (812) 461-5304 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOTICE: The Norwegian Foot March Badge is listed in Chapter 9, Appendix D of AR 600-8-22 as of 30 March 2018 as approved for wear. USI ROTC will provide the Certificate, Pin and initiate the DA form 4187 for Service Members. It is the participants responsibility to gain approval from their commander for the authorization for awarding and wearing the NFM pin on their service uniform.
