Screaming Eagles release 2004-05 basketball schedules
USI menís basketball adds exhibition game with Cincinnati to schedule

The University of Southern Indiana menís basketball team opens the 2004-05 campaign on the road with a pair of exhibition games before beginning the regular season at the Physical Activities Center on November 15.
In addition to the previously announced USI exhibition game with the University of Evansville, the Screaming Eagles will play an exhibition game at the University of Cincinnati on November 13. This is the first time USI has played both of its exhibition games on the road.
Following the exhibition schedule, the Eagles open the regular season campaign by hosting Olivet Nazarene University. Along with ONU on the non-conference schedule, USI will host the University of Puerto-Rico-Mayaguez on December 29 University of Pittsburgh-Johnston on January 10 and Oakland City University on January 26. The non-conference schedule also includes a road trip to the University of North Alabama on November 20 and to Ferris State University for the 2004 GLIAC/GLVC Rotary Classic on December 20-21. At FSU, the Eagles will play the Bulldogs and Wayne State University, who was USI opponent in the regional finals last spring.
The Eagles will begin the 2004-05 GLVC schedule at home for the first time in four seasons when they host the University of Indianapolis on November 26 and Saint Josephís College on November 28.
USI also will host Northern Kentucky University on January 8 and Kentucky Wesleyan College on January 29. Senior Day and Homecoming is set for February 12 when USI will host the defending regular season champion Lewis University.
The 2004-05 Eagles will be lead by fourth-year Head Coach Rick Herdes. Herdes, who led the Eagles to the NCAA II National Championship game for the third time in the history of the program, has a 75-22 record and a .773 winning percentage in three seasons at the helm.
The top returning players are senior guard Cris Brunson (Evansville, Indiana) and senior forward/center Randy Holbrook (St. Louis, Missouri). Brunson was the NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Most Outstanding Player last season and was named to the Elite Eight All-Tournament team, while Holbrook was named USIís ďCBS Player of the GameĒ in the national championship finale.
