Dorsey decides to turn pro
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana junior guard Daryl Dorsey (Baltimore, Maryland) has decided to leave the Screaming Eagles and sign a professional contract with Las Vegas Rattlers of the American Basketball Association.
Dorsey enrolled at USI in September and had been practicing with the team before this opportunity arose. He was an All-Region performer at Brevard Community College after averaging 28.6 ppg and ranking second in the NJCAA as a sophomore in 2002-03.
“This was a very tough decision for Daryl and I wish him the very best in professional pursuits,” said USI Head Coach Rick Herdes. “Daryl has the type of skills you need at the next level and with hard work will have a chance to be successful.”
