Thompson named honorable mention All-American

EVANSVILLE, Ind. University of Southern Indiana men's basketball senior forward Chris Thompson (Starke, Florida) was named honorable mention All-American in the Division II Bulletin Preseason Preview.

Thompson is the team's leading returning scorer and rebounder with 11.3 ppg and 9.2 rpg last year. He also had a team-high 12 double-doubles, which ranks second at USI to former Division II Player of the Year Chris Bowles' 18 double-doubles in 1991-92.

The 2005 honorable mention All-GLVC performer had 21 double-digit scoring games with a season-high 28 points against Olivet Nazarene University. He also started his junior year at USI with three-straight double-digit rebound games and had a total of 15 double-digit rebound contests.
