USI men's basketball still second in region poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team remained second in the latest NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region poll that was released Wednesday. USI, which is ranked eighth nationally, continues to trail the GLIAC's University of Findlay in the region poll.
USI was trailed in the region by Quincy University, who is tied with the Eagles for the top spot of the West Division Grand Valley State University, who leads the GLIAC's North Division and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, who is tied for third in the GLVC's East Division. The GLVC's Drury University and Northern Kentucky University were ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, while Mercyhurst College rounds out the top eight.
The top eight teams at the end of the season will qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament.
In addition to USI, the Great Lakes Region also has three other nationally ranked teams. Findlay is ranked third, while Grand Valley State is seventh and Quincy is 12th.
USI resumes action Thursday when it travels to the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
