Box Score

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The 6th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team won the GLVC West Division crown outright with an 87-65 victory over 25th-ranked Quincy University Saturday afternoon at the Physical Activities Center. USI raises its record to 25-3 overall and 14-3 in the GLVC, while Quincy falls to 17-8 overall and 10-7 GLVC.

Kenny Page

The win also marks the fifth straight season that USI has won 25-or-more games in a year. USI finishes the home schedule 15-0.

The Screaming Eagles took command of the game late in the first half on a 14-0 run, led by junior guard Kenny Page (Indianapolis, Indiana). Page, who had 18 points in the game, scored seven of the 14 points during the run.

USI's largest lead of first half would come at the intermission, 51-37. The Eagles also shot an astounding 75 percent from the field (21-28) during the first stanza.

The Hawks would cut the Eagles lead to 11 points, 53-42 with 17:37 left, but that would be as close as they would come. USI would push the margin to 24 points, 87-63, before settling for the 87-65 final.

Rashard Sullivan

USI senior center Rashard Sullivan (Miami, Florida) led the Eagles in the scoring column and on the boards with 21 points and six rebounds. He also had seven dunks, three assists, three blocks, and a steal.

Sullivan and Page were followed by senior forward Geoff Van Winkle (Ferdinand, Indiana), who had 16 points, and senior guard Melvin Hall (Evansville, Indiana), who had 12 points.

Prior to the game, USI honored its seven seniors Sullivan, Hall, Van Winkle, forward Nick Brooks (Robinson, Illinois), senior forward Keith Christmas (Gary, Indiana), forward Marty Wise (New Orleans, Louisiana), and Student Assistant Coach Brent Hancock.

USI finishes the regular season on the road next week when it travels to Rockhurst University on February 22 and Drury University on February 24.
