Sullivan to play in inaugural Collegiate Basketball Invitational

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana men's basketball senior center Rashard Sullivan (Miami, Florida) has been selected to play in the inaugural Collegiate Basketball Invitational that will feature 60 of the top college basketball players from the NCAA Division II, III, and NAIA. The event is scheduled for April 19-21 at Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio.
The 60 players will be divided into six teams of 10 players for a double elimination tournament. The tournament has scheduled two sessions of two games on April 19-20 with an all-star game April 21. The all-star game will air live on ESPNU at noon on April 21.
The players invited to the tournament were selected from approximately 900 colleges and universities within the three divisions.
A Division II Bulletin honorable mention All-American, Sullivan will play on the Galaxy team that is sponsored by The Galaxy Restaurant. The squad will be coached by Joe Lombardi from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and will feature Anthony Atkinson from Division II National Champion Barton College.
Sullivan, who was named first team All-GLVC and first team All-Great Lakes Region, ranked second on the team with 12.6 points per game and grabbed a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game. The Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic Most Outstanding Player also had a team-high 52 blocks this season to go along with six double-doubles.
USI and Sullivan finished the 2006-07 campaign with a 29-6 overall record captured the Disney Division II Tip-Off championship won the GLVC West Division crown with a 14-5 league record and won the GLVC Tournament championships. The Screaming Eagles also appeared in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the 14th time in 15 years, advancing to the round of 32.
