Plummer named GLVC Player of the Week
Men's Basketball Game Notes
– University of Southern Indiana senior forward Norman Plummer
(Cincinnati, Ohio) was named the GLVC Player of the Week for men's basketball. Plummer guided the Screaming Eagles to a convincing 87-49 win over Great Lakes Region-foe Tiffin University on Saturday.
Plummer netted a game-high 19 points in just 28 minutes of action, finishing seven-for-11 (.636) from the field and five-for-eight (.625) from the free throw line. He also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and had one assist.
On the year, Plummer is averaging 21.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He has notched a double-double in four of the Eagles' seven games on the year, while leading them in scoring six times. Plummer is also shooting 69.6 percent from the field which ranks him fourth in the league.
USI hosts Ferris State Wednesday night
– The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball continues its homestand by hosting Ferris State University Wednesday evening at the Physical Activities Center. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles (5-2) are coming off a dominating win over Tiffin University, 87-49, last Saturday. USI also has won three in a row since losing two out of three at home for the first time since 1991-92.
Ferris State (3-5), who plays at Saint Joseph's College tonight, starts the week on a three-game losing streak. The Bulldogs are led by freshman forward Justin Keenan, who is averaging 14.6 points per game.
The Eagles lead the all-time series, 7-2, and have won the last two meetings. USI defeated Ferris State last year, 91-76, in the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge that was hosted by Wayne State University.
