Plummer selected to play in all-star tournament
Official Collegiate Basketball Invitational Release
– University of Southern Indiana men's basketball senior forward Norman Plummer
(Cincinnati, Ohio) has been selected to play in the second annual Collegiate Basketball Invitational that will feature 65 of the top college basketball players from the NCAA Division II, III, and NAIA. The event is scheduled for April 24-26 at Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio.
The 65 players will be divided into eight teams of eight players for a double elimination tournament. Each team will play three games that will be played Thursday and Friday, culminating with the championship game Friday night at 8 p.m. The CBI will conclude with an all-star game Saturday evening in front of a live, ESPNU audience as 20 players will be selected to play in the game.
The players invited to the tournament were selected from approximately 1,000 colleges and universities within the three divisions. Former USI All-American Rashard Sullivan played in the inaugural tournament last year.

honorable mention All-American, Plummer will play on a team sponsored by First Merit Bank. The squad will be coached by Alfred Johnson from Holy Family University.
In addition to being an All-American, Plummer also was named Daktronics first team All-Region NABC second team All-Region and first team All-GLVC. The senior forward also earned Division II Bulletin
Player of the Month honors for December and was named GLVC Player of the Week twice during the season.
Plummer had an amazing year with the Eagles. He became the first Screaming Eagle in 24 years to win the GLVC scoring title with 19.5 points per game and ranked number two in league with 10.7 rebounds per contest. Stephen Jackson, who was inducted into the USI Athletic Hall of Fame in February, was the last Eagle to win the GLVC scoring title in 1984-85 with 21.6 points per game.
In addition to averaging a double-double in 2007-08, Plummer had 13 double-doubles games, including five straight to end the season. He scored in double-figures 24 times this season, reaching the 20-point plateau 14 times. Plummer posted a season-high 30 points in USI's 83-60 victory over Ferris State University.
Plummer was ranked in seven GLVC statistical categories and was in the top 10 of six of those categories. Including scoring and rebounding, Plummer ranked first in offensive rebounds per game (3.59), third in defensive rebounds per game (7.11), seventh in field goal percentage (.579), eighth in minutes played per game (33.07), and 12th in steals per game (1.52).
