Carr officially joins USI men's basketball for 2008-09
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team officially announced the addition of 6-foot-6 forward Brandon Carr (Baltimore, Maryland) to the roster for the 2008-09 season. Carr attended USI last season, but redshirted.
Carr transferred to USI last fall from the Community College of Baltimore County at Catonsville where he was named first team NJCAA All-Region XX and first team All-Maryland Junior College in 2006-07. He averaged 13.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore and was the CCBC Catonsville Male Athlete of the Year.
In Carr's final season, CCBC was 24-4 overall with a 15-2 conference record.
"Brandon has worked very hard, both in the classroom and on the basketball court, to put himself in a position to have a great future at Southern Indiana," said USI Head Coach Rick Herdes. "His ability to play both inside and outside will make him successful in a USI uniform."
The USI men's basketball team is coming off its 16th straight winning season that has included 15 20-win seasons and 14 NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. The Screaming Eagles also have won 27-or-more games four times in the last five seasons and included three GLVC West Division and two GLVC Tournament crowns.
