Plummer helps First Merit to CBI Championship

– University of Southern Indiana senior forward Norman Plummer
(Cincinnati, Ohio) helped lead the First Merit squad to the championship of the second annual Collegiate Basketball Invitational in Wadesworth, Ohio, on Saturday. The CBI is a major national basketball event that gathers the finest 64 senior men's basketball players from all of NCAA Division II and Division III and NAIA Division I and Division II.
Plummer averaged 11 points, seven rebounds, 1.7 blocks per contest in the three-game tournament. He dropped in 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the championship game.
The USI All-American started the tournament by recording 11 points and nine rebounds in the first game, while posting 10 points and five rebounds in the semifinals.
The event took place at Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio, and each team had eight players in eight-team bracket. Six games were played both Thursday and Friday. The CBI will conclude with an all-star game Saturday evening at 8 p.m. (ET) in front of a live, ESPNU audience as 20 players will selected to play in the game.
