USI falls at Indiana State in exhibition game

The University of Southern Indiana women’s basketball fell in its only tune-up game with a 94-56 exhibition loss to Indiana State University Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute, Indiana. USI will tip-off the regulars season in the Division II Tip-Off Classic against the University of Nebraska-Omaha Friday, November 9, at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.

Indiana State jumped out in front early in the contest and went into halftime leading 45-23. The Sycamores continued to pour on the offense in the second half, outscoring the Screaming Eagles 49-33.

USI was led by sophomore forward Jessica Stuckman (Quincy, Illinois), who had 14 points.

The first home game for the Eagles will be Monday, November 19, when Michigan Tech University visits the Physical Activities Center for the first time since 1997-98 for a 7 p.m. match. USI will open its Great Lakes Valley Conference title defense on the road Thanksgiving weekend in St. Louis, Missouri, against the University of Missouri-St. Louis Saturday, November 24.
