EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team announced the signing of midfielder/forward Heather Delonga to a national letter of intent. Delonga is the ninth player to commit to USI Head Coach Krissy Engelbrecht this spring.

Delonga is transferring to USI from Southwestern Illinois Community College and has two years of eligibility left.

During her tenure at SWIC, Delonga was named All-American as a sophomore and honorable mention All-American as a freshman. She also was named All-Region twice.

Delonga went to SWIC after playing four seasons with the Belleville (Illinois) East High School program. She was a three-time All-Conference and a two-time team Most Valuable Player.

"Heather is an outstanding player, who will bring a lot of collegiate experience to our team," said Engelbrecht.

Delonga joins eight other newcomers for 2006. Committing to USI for next fall are defenders Katie Austin (Evansville, Indiana) Jenna Keusch (Jasper, Indiana) and Jaclyn Clements (Crown Point, Indiana) midfielders Shauni Boudia (Noblesville, Indiana) and Katie Teagarden (Speedway, Indiana) forwards Kara Georgeff (Highland, Indiana) and Julie Vaughan (Evansville, Indiana) and utility player Alison Conquest (Merrillville, Indiana).
