USI women's soccer releases 2008 schedule

Complete 2008 USI Schedule

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team announced its 2008 schedule today. The schedule is comprised of one exhibition game and 17 regular season games.

The lone preseason game has USI hosting Indiana State University on August 17.

The Screaming Eagles start the season on the road with region opponents when they trave to play Ferris State University on August 29 and the perennial powerhouse Grand Valley State University on August 31. GVSU has been to the NCAA Division II Tournament final four the last two years.

USI also starts the home schedule with a pair of non-conference opponents in Urbana University on September 5 and Oakland City University on September 7. The Eagles close out the non-conference schedule on the road at the University North Alabama on September 26.

The first weekend of the 2008 GLVC schedule has USI on the road for a pair of games. USI starts GLVC action at Missouri University of Science & Technology on September 12, followed by a road match against the defending GLVC Tournament champion Drury University.

The Eagles return home in the conference on September 19 when they host Rockhurst University.

USI just missed the GLVC Tournament last year, concluding the season with a 7-10-1 overall record and 5-7-1 in the GLVC.
