Emerging Leaders

Emerging leader logo

Emerging Leaders offers a group of USI freshman students the opportunity to develop new leadership skills, make new friends, and contribute to their university community. This program focuses on preparing individuals to succeed and contribute to USI as student leaders in subsequent years.

Emerging Leaders will hear speakers, participate in workshops, learn about leadership opportunities on campus and virtually, and participate in other events. Weekly virtual sessions are currently scheduled for Mondays from 3-4:30 p.m. during the spring semester and in-person mentor group meetings will be scheduled based on availability.

In addition, participants will attend a two-day retreat (TBD: virtually and/or on-campus) on Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23, 2021, and complete leadership and reflection activities to successfully graduate from the program in April.

Class of 2025 Emerging Leaders Applications will open in Fall 2021
