47th Annual Juried Student Art Show

The 47th Annual University of Southern Indiana Juried Student Art Show will be open April 2-30 in the McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries on the USI campus. The galleries are open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday.

Over $9,000 in merit awards, scholarships and purchase awards was announced on Sunday, April 2, at the opening of the show. Freshman Art major Bayley Graham won the top award, Best of Show, with her ink drawing Shadow Nest (see below).

Juror Arthur Fields has selected 170 artworks from over 400 entries for the exhibition and selected the award recipients. Fields is an artist and photographer based in Dallas and Vincennes/Evansville, Indiana. He received his MFA from Texas Woman's University in Denton and his BFA in digital imaging from Washington University in St. Louis. His current photographic work deals with self-image and technology relationships. Fields is a board member of several photographic arts organizations including Ticka Arts and the Texas Photographic Society. He also is an active member of the Society for Photographic Education, serving as student volunteer coordinator for the national conference. Fields is an assistant professor of art, currently teaching photography, and runs the Shircliff Gallery at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana.
