A student once enrolled at the University, but who does not attend for one fall/spring semester, does not need to be readmitted to the University, but will have an advising hold and must speak with an academic advisor prior to registration.
A student once enrolled at the University, who for any reason does not re-enroll for two or more consecutive fall/spring semesters, must initiate an Application for Readmission prior to returning for the next semester. To facilitate registration for the upcoming semester, the readmission application should be submitted by the following dates:
|If returning for
the following term:
||August 1 (same calendar year)
||December 1 (preceding calendar year)
||April 1 (same calendar year)
A readmission can still be completed after the date listed, but the student may be more likely to experience registration delays.
Returning undergraduate students must complete an Application for Undergraduate Readmission with the Registrar's Office.
Returning students who qualify for the Fresh Start program must apply for the program at the time of readmission (acceptance into the program is irreversible).
Degree-seeking readmission students are required to submit an official transcript from each institution attended since last attending USI.
If a student discontinues enrollment for more than one calendar year, then the student must re-enroll under the current program requirements. A student may petition the department chair for permission to grandfather back to the original program requirements.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 requires the written signature or electronic signature (myUSI password) of the student to process information pertaining to the academic records of the student. Submission of an application for readmission by any of the following means conveys consent to the officials of the University of Southern Indiana to update your computerized academic record.
You can apply for undergraduate readmission at USI via the following options:
Any student who has previously been admitted to a graduate degree program but who has not been enrolled and receiving graduate credit for two or more consecutive fall/spring semesters will need to reapply to the Office of Graduate Studies. The Application for Admission to Graduate Study is available online or in the Office of Graduate Studies on the first floor of the Orr Center. The student will be required to follow regulations in effect at the time of readmission. Non-degree seeking graduate students are not eligible for financial aid.
