Indiana State Teachers Association Aspiring Educators
Indiana State Teachers Association Aspiring Educators (ISTA AE) is an organization for any student interested in the field of Education. ISTA AE welcomes all college students who may work in a school - education majors, those interested in social work, counseling, school health, and specific content area majors.
The chapter hosts campus meetings, activities, and events and also connects with neighboring universities. The state association hosts virtual and in-person opportunities, including the Good Teaching Conference and statewide virtual AE meetings. Trainings and professional development are available and FREE to members (i.e. Praxis assistance). Keep up to date on education issues especially during the Legislative Session through the Take Action Advocacy Center. Scholarship and award applications open each January to help fund your education and provide recognition for your efforts. Annually, ISTA AE hosts Outreach to Teach (O2T), a statewide service project to spruce up a public school, which usually occurs during the spring semester.
There are leadership opportunities available at the local campus, state, and national levels. Members are also able to select FREE supplies for classrooms from the ReSupply Program and to wear an AE stole for graduation. Dues are $41. For more information contact Dr. Janell Pycior.
