Zehr one of four editors for new book
November 28, 2023
Stephen Zehr, Emeritus Professor of Sociology, is one of four editors of the new book, Climate, Science and Society, a collection of 37 chapters distributed among 11 topical parts. Each short chapter places cutting-edge science and technology studies (STS) research and ideas on climate change in a form accessible to undergraduate students. Chapter authors are drawn from universities across 11 nations, each with a unique range of climate change expertise but a shared STS intellectual foundation.
The book is an outgrowth of a National Science Foundation-sponsored workshop hosted by Zehr with Roopali Phadke (Macalester College) and Myanna Lahsen (Brazilian Institute for Space Research) at USI in June 2022. Part of the NSF grant, with additional funding from the USI Office of the Provost and Sonoma State University Library, is used to publish the book Open Access so students may access all chapters free of charge.
More details about the primer can be found at Climate, Science and Society: A Primer - 1st Edition - Zeke Baker - Ta (routledge.com). The book is available from Routledge after December 21, 2023.
