Mail and Package Services
USPS mail and packages from all carriers (FedEx, USPS, DHL, and UPS) are received by the HRL office. Students will be sent an email to their USI account indicating they have mail or a package and where to pick up (package lockers or package pick up window).
IMPORTANT: The USPS and shipping carriers do not make mail or package deliveries on Saturday and Sunday, holidays or when the University is closed. Mail and packages will be delivered to the office the next business day.
Outgoing Mail
Students may drop off outgoing letter mail that has the proper postage on it at the HRL Package Pickup window.
HRL cannot accept packages to be returned or mailed. Students will need to send packages out from a carrier location such as UPS or USPS.
What is my mailing address?
Mailing address for all letters and packages. This address should be used for floral deliveries as well.
It is important that the student's legal first name and last name are used in the address. If a student has a preferred first name they want to use, they should update it through myUSI. This will avoid mail and packages being returned to sender.
Mail or packages not addressed correctly with a first and last name may be delayed in reaching the student or may be returned to sender.
This mailing address will be used for students in residence halls and apartments.

Housing residents should NOT use the HRL office address for food (fast food/restaurant orders) or grocery deliveries. Those should be delivered to resident apartments or residence halls. Please use the physical address for the apartment or residence hall. Residents should be at their apartment or residence hall to receive such deliveries.
HRL will contact students immediately when deliveries such as meal kits or medication that require refrigeration are received. The packages will be logged as well. HRL does not have refrigerator space to keep such items, therefore, students need to be mindful when these deliveries are expected so they may pick them up immediately when contacted by HRL.
What is my physical address?
Students sometimes need the physical street address for their apartment or residence hall for the following:
- Parking permit
- Emergency purposes
- Food deliveries
- Family and friends can enter the address into their GPS system when coming for a visit
Residents should NOT use the physical address for letters or packages.

How to get your mail and packages
All packages and postal mail are delivered to the HRL office.
All mail items, including packages, sent to students must be addressed as follows:

It is important that the student's name is on the mail or package. Without a name or with a partial name/nickname, we will not be able to determine who the item belongs to and it will be returned to sender.
Students must bring their USI Eagle Access Card to receive any mail or packages.
Packages and mail will expire after four days if not picked up. After that they will be returned to the sender.
Students should NOT come to the Package Pickup counter when they are notified of a delivery by a vendor or shipping carrier. Students should wait until they receive an email from HRL. Packages are not always immediately available as we receive large quantities and it takes times to process them.
If a student is unable to pick up mail or packages within the timeframe they should email Living, so we can help them make arrangements.
What happens when I move out?
Housing and Residence Life will not hold or forward mail. The USPS considers a campus address as temporary and will not forward mail. Residents will need to notify family, friends and businesses of their address change.
