Selection Process:
Criteria: Award to an art student to apply to expenses to travel to study art. Strictly for travel; not renewable. May be reawarded if recipient is traveling again. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.
Charles E. Hirsch Endowed Scholarship

Selection Process:
  • Admission to select
Criteria: Award to an incoming freshman who is a graduate of North Posey High School with a minimum GPA of 3.25 who is majoring in art, music or theatre. Preference should be given to an art major. Automatically renewable with 3.25 GPA. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship.

Criteria: Scholarship for the arts. Preference to art, music, or theatre students. May also be awarded to a creative writing or art history student. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Renewable with a 2.5 GPA.

Criteria: Number and amount of awards varies. For art-related national or international travel for art majors May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Not renewable, but can be reawarded.
Graphic Design Scholarship

Criteria: For an art major who excels in graphic design, interactive media design or illustration. Not renewable. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.
Jim Sanders Gallery Fellowship

Criteria: To support one or more students interested in exhibition gallery through supervised applied training at the Kenneth McCutchan Art Center May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Must be in training at galleries, not renewable.
John W. McNaughton Award for Excellence in Woodworking

Criteria: Award to a junior or senior art major (concentrating in wood working) who excels in woodworking & has potential to attend graduate school or to develop a career as a woodworker. Not renewable, but it may be reawarded to same recipient. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.

Criteria: Awarded each year to an incoming freshman planning to major in Art, English, History, Philosophy, Theater, or Foreign Language w/min. 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need. See current brochure. Automatically renewable if recipient still meets criteria. Selected by Society for Arts & Humanities. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Student Financial Aid must validate.
Siegfried R. and Carolyn W Weng Art Scholarship

Criteria: Award to a junior (to be used during senior year) art major who portrays an interest in studio art. Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA when scholarship is awarded and received. Not renewable.

The Bill Johns Memorial Art Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional student majoring in Art. A sophomore or junior, who maintains at least a B average, works menial jobs to support him/her, and is at least 25 years old. They must also possess exceptional art skills and a vision that is not necessarily commercial. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Not renewable, but students may apply annually.
William E. Schmidt Foundation Art Scholarship

Criteria: Award to an incoming art or theatre major or student involved in music program at USI with a high school GPA of 2.5 or better and SAT score of 1500 (ACT 21) or higher. Renewable for an additional 3 years with a 2.5 or higher GPA. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship.
