Student Art Show juror to speak on work in free presentation

The 2016 University of Southern Indiana Student Art Show juror, Jim Bryant, will speak on his art and design work at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 21 in Kleymeyer Hall in the Liberal Arts Center on the USI campus. The presentation is free and open to the public. Bryant will also select student artwork and awards for the 46th Annual USI Student Art Show to be held April 3 through May 1.

Bryant is a professor of art and design at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and teaches intermediate and advanced levels of graphic design, including branding, typography, poster, packaging and Web design. He has worked with a range of national and international clients, and his work has been included in over 100 exhibitions. His clients include the United Nations, the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team in Barcelona, Spain, the PGA Golf Championships, Experience Green and the Toy Museum of New York. He recently was a visiting professor of design at Beihang University, formally the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, in Beijing.  

Bryant received a master's degree in printmaking from Louisiana State University and a bachelor's degree in painting and printmaking from the Herron School of Art. He currently lives in Almo, Kentucky, with his wife Nicole Hand, daughter Ella and son Colin.
