ANCC Accredited Distincion Logo V6 Provider  Accreditation with Distinction

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) has awarded its highest accreditation rating to the College of Nursing and Health Professions continuing education programs at the University of Southern Indiana through November 30, 2018.  According to data released in 2012, less than ten percent of all ANCC-accredited organizations achieve this honor.  “The College of Nursing and Health Professions is committed to lifelong learning,” said Dr. Ann White, Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions.  “Nursing and other health professions require continuing education to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies within their specialties.  Very few programs are awarded this honor so to earn this rating affirms the quality of our educational programs.”

Pace Seal FINAL

The University of Southern Indiana has been pre-approved by The Commission for Case Manager Certification to provide continuing education credit to board certified case managers (CCMs)(R).  The Case Management/Care Coordination Certificate program course is approved for 40 CE Contact hours.  Activity code: H00019661 Approval #: 160000453.  Expiration date:  March 28, 2017.

The University of Southern Indiana’s Online Continuing Education for Health Professionals department has achieved accreditation by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC) as a Multiple Event Provider (MEP) of Continuing Education for Health Education Credentialing. This accreditation is good for four years, running from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2019.

“We are now an approved continuing education provider for anyone who has the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential from NCHEC,” said Dr. Ann White, dean of the USI College of Nursing and Health Professions. The MEP designation authorizes USI to utilize NCHEC credentials without the need for a per course authorization for all conferences and workshops and online continuing education courses, including the Health Promotions and Worksite Wellness Certificate Program.

“This is the first year for the Multiple Event Provider, but we have held single event provider (SEP) accreditation with this organization since 2012,” said White. “We can now utilize this credential to advance more areas of study for our students and open opportunities that may not have existed previously.”

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education

The University of Southern Indiana (USI) School of Nursing and Health Professions works closely with the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance to offer several online continuing pharmacy education (CPE) programs. The Indiana Pharmacists Alliance (IPA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Refer to the course descriptions to determine if the course includes CPE and review the requirements.
