Mrs. Sandra Haney is an Adjunct Lecturer in Communication Studies at the University of Southern Indiana. She is a dual credit instructor for the University of Southern Indiana at New Palestine High School near Indianapolis. Her research interests include verbal mimicry and public speaking, human reinforcement, nonverbal communication, and the chameleon effect. She also develops, designs, and teaches online communication courses. She has presented her research at a number of conferences including Anderson University; eLead, Western Kentucky University; Kentucky Communication Association, and Greenfield High School; Applemania.
Mrs. Haney has been nominated for Indiana Teacher of the Year in 2000, 2008, 2010, and 2012. In 2019, she was named Southern Hancock School Corporation Teacher of the Year and an Indiana Teacher of the Year Finalist. She created the first USI Satellite Campus in southeast Indianapolis for students. She also received the Golden Apple Teacher Award. In her spare time, Mrs. Haney enjoys spending time with her two children and husband.
