Public Safety training available for University departments

Public Safety is offering training and guidance on a variety of topics such as incident awareness on campus which deals with how to respond to a variety of hazards or incidents that could occur on campus.

Specific training such as active killer/shooter, CPR, stop the bleed, workplace theft, QPR (suicide prevention) and high-risk, low-frequency events, such as bomb threats, and verbal de-escalation will be offered and can be catered to individual departments. Training can be scheduled on-location within a department to align specific actions with employees’ workspaces.

Supervisors should contact Steve Bequette, Director of Public Safety, or Sam Preston, Assistant Director of Public Safety, at 812-464-1845 to schedule training sessions for departments.
